A Month of Mindful Healing ($36)

As individuals, and as a world, we seek healing. We crave space to be real, messy, and vulnerable; to be accepted as-is so we can change and grow. This course supports healing of your whole being: what's on the surface, what's underneath, what surrounds you, and what's in your heart. Through expressive writing and meditation, you'll explore and nurture your inner landscape. In safe, small ways, you'll create meaningful change; you'll transform and heal. This course has rolling registration. You're warmly welcome to join. Register now.

what to expect

  • Each week, you need 2-3 hours (not all in one sitting) that you can devote to YOU. Short daily practice is important.

  • The meditations and writing prompts are specifically created to encourage healing.

  • Whether you're new to meditation or an experienced practitioner, this course can help.

  • There's no way to get this wrong—let things be messy and real; this course is a practice in acceptance and compassion.

  • The course material is available on a password-protected space within my website; you have lifetime access to these teachings—release any concern about time; this course is with you always.

An Invitation from Joy:

This course is a great vehicle to experience a profound, insightful journey with the support of a kind, wise, and courageous teacher who has walked (and continues to walk) the path.
— Larry L.

Weekly outline

Each week includes written teaching, guided meditations, writing prompts, everyday awareness practices, mini-assignments, and 6 photographs (with insights + writing prompts + meditations ) to be viewed as the week progresses. There's copious material, but you can practice in small doses. This isn't another to-do item, it's a course to be lived and breathed. Let it be messy, real, and imperfect.

Week 2: Healing What's Under the Surface: Internal beliefs and letting go of limitations; self-compassion practice; body awareness
Week 3: Healing What's Around Us: Core values and what matters most; four-step process to get unstuck; guidance on healing relationships
Week 4: Healing Our Hearts: Joy, happiness, creativity, and loving-kindness practice
Epilogue: Meet Yourself Where You Are: Change, growth, and healing + suggestions for moving forward

Look inside

It’s helpful to look inside the class; to see, feel, and experience an example lesson. Here’s an excerpt: Self-Compassion Practice.

COMMUNITY

Each lesson contains a comments section, where you can ask questions or share a practice. Commenting isn't an expectation but it is an option. Your healing is personal, done in private and at your own pace, yet there's safe space to share your experience and hear from others. This makes us feel less alone and more brave. We all have yays and difficulties, insights and roadblocks. You move through this course on your own, yet supported by me and the other participants.

A Month of Mindful Healing has been a rich and rewarding journey inward. Joy’s commitment to mindfulness and compassion shines through all the meditations, exercises, writing prompts, and explanations. She creates a safe environment in which it feels comfortable to look and feel inside yourself, where it’s absolutely okay to just be who you are and yet to move forward in your own pace and your own way. The steps are well-measured and Joy is alongside you the whole way—encouraging and kind. This class is a gift to yourself.

BEGIN

We often sabotage our own efforts by thinking circumstances must be perfect and changes big, but I suggest a different philosophy: start right where you are and make small steps. If you want more ease, presence, healing, and growth in your life, then you must begin. Commit to yourself for a month and also let things be imperfect, messy, and real. Join the class on your own. Or join with a group of friends, family, or coworkers. Do whatever supports your practice and your willingness to begin. Registration continues all year long. You're warmly welcome. (If you have questions, please contact me.)
