Friday Morning Meditation

8:15-9:00a Central time via zoom

Each Friday, we explore a different theme that connects meditation practice with everyday life. Class is a refuge space—you’re led by a caring teacher and held by community.

We begin with a few minutes to connect, then I offer a short reflection on the week’s theme before guiding a meditation. We end by sharing a few thoughts (or simply listening) as we head into the weekend.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You’re curious about meditation but aren’t sure where to start.

  • You’ve tried meditation but can’t keep a practice going.

  • You’re looking for a group of well-intentioned folks who live differently in this complex world.

  • You're looking for practical ways to bring more calm, perspective, and kindness into everyday life.

  • You long for a place where you can show up and be accepted just as you are.

Then my Friday meditation class is for you!

Some people have been gathering on Friday mornings for years, while others have just discovered the class. New faces are always welcome, and the community has a wonderful way of making people feel at home.

Friday meditation is a big part of my life. Our circle has energy and love among us, and Joy’s invitation to “come as you are” is so honest. The non-judgmental atmosphere brings peace to us all. The Zoom room is magical—a safe place to meditate and join in community. Joy is a master!

Here’s how class works

  • Every Friday morning, 8:00a, you’ll receive a short reflection to read before class. Many people enjoy the reflection even on weeks they can’t attend live.

  • The Zoom room opens around 8:10a CT (link included in the email) and class begins around 8:15a.

  • You choose each time: join live, just read the email, or listen to the archives at a different time.

  • You can arrive late or leave early. You can have your camera on or off. Show up just as you are.

  • There’s no charge for the class. Give it a try! If you find my teachings helpful, you can create a subscription or make a donation.

I’ve been in the meditation group for nearly ten years. Joy is a humble, dedicated leader with wisdom to share. The guided meditations, which often include movement, are simple and accessible, with themes ranging from loving ourselves to letting go. I love the group! We’re totally accepted as we are. We laugh over our failings, share our insights and experiences, and turn them into something greater than ourselves.

Hi, my name is Joy. Friday mornings are one of my favorite parts of the week. There's something special about gathering with people who are willing to slow down, reflect honestly, and encourage one another before heading into the weekend.

Whether you’re brand new to meditation or have been practicing for years, there’s a place for you here.
